2nd Proteoglycan Forum

Organized by Professor Masaki Yanagishita (at Tokyo Medical and Dental University) and Professor Masayuki Ishihara (at National Defense Medical College), the Second Proteoglycan Forum (a seminar cosponsored by FCCA) was held at Tokyo Medical and Dental University on December 11, 1997. Professor Nancy B. Schwartz (at The University of Chicago), Professor Bryan Toole (at Tufts University), and Professor Robert Stern (at University of California San Francisco) took the lead in the forum under the themes "The Biology of Hyaluronan" and "Sulfation of Glycoconjugates." About 50 attendants, including the reporters, discussed over the themes in a congenial yet meaningful mood. The forum served as the second discussion meeting on the research of proteoglycan and glycosaminoglycan, following the 28th FCCA Seminar held on June 21, 1997 ("The Diversified Heparin/Heparan Sulfate Proteoglycan World More than Anticoagulation").
